Exactly one year ago during the summer holidays I was at the Berlin Zoo and posted the message below on instagram so I thought I’d post this on my website as well.
When I noticed this couple walking in front of me, the first song that came to mind was that Warren Zevon song about a big gorilla at the Los Angeles Zoo.
The REM song Shiny happy people came next. But then I thought about the lyrics of another song from the band Eels “I see you with your man, your eyes just shine. While he stands tall and walking proud”
‘Cause when I started following this couple for about 15 minutes they were beaming, absolutely beaming, and that guy for sure was the proudest gorilla at the Berlin Zoo.
Footnote: The song from the band Eels (That look you give that guy) was inspired by a French song “Le coup the soleil” by Richard Cocciante. And don’t ask me how i know this strange fact because i don’t even know myself.
